About me
I’m an investigative reporter for The Courier Journal in Louisville, Ky., where I’ve worked since 2017.
Before that, I spent seven years as a teacher and administrator in New Orleans public schools. I earned a master’s degree in investigative journalism from American University in 2016-17, while also reporting on national education issues for The Washington Post.
Upon coming to The Courier Journal, I served as the paper’s education beat reporter.
My reporting on the misuse of psychiatric evaluations in Kentucky’s largest school district earned the 2020 national award in investigative reporting from the Education Writer’s Association. I was named the 2021 Journalist of the Year by the Louisville Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and was a finalist for the 2022 Livingston Awards at the University of Michigan.
I live in Louisville’s Germantown neighborhood and love walking to nearby coffee shops for a cold brew. On the weekends you’ll find me at a silent disco singing to Rihanna or traveling from Albuquerque to Paris catching up with good friends.
